Review process
Before they’re available on Apple Podcasts, channels, shows, and subscriptions are reviewed to ensure they comply with our content guidelines. We’ll send you an email when the status of your podcast is updated. You can also monitor the status in Apple Podcasts Connect.
Approved podcasts, channels, and subscriptions
If your content is approved, we’ll send you a confirmation email with a link to it in Apple Podcasts.
Podcasts, channels, and subscriptions are reviewed separately, so it’s possible for a podcast to be available on Apple Podcasts while the associated channel is still in review. Similarly, a channel might be available on Apple Podcasts while the subscription is still in review. In this case, the channel and any shows or episodes which you’ve made available to anyone will be on Apple Podcasts, but subscription promotions and episodes containing subscriber audio will not.
In order for your subscription to be reviewed, you must include at least one episode with subscriber audio.
Rejected podcasts
To avoid issues with the review process, be sure to follow our content guidelines and artwork requirements. If your show isn’t approved, you can correct the issue and resubmit your podcast in Apple Podcasts Connect.
A podcast can be removed at any time. Generally if a show was previously available on Apple Podcasts and then removed, it’s in response to a customer complaint or a technical issue. The sooner the issue is addressed, the sooner the show will be back on Apple Podcasts.
Resubmit a show for review
- In Apple Podcasts Connect, click the show you want to resubmit.
- For RSS feed shows, make any required changes to your RSS feed directly. Your hosting provider should be able to assist you with this process.
- For shows created in Apple Podcasts Connect, make any required changes to artwork, metadata, or audio files.
- Click Publish.
If your show is part of an approved channel, the channel (and any approved subscriptions) will continue to be available on Apple Podcasts as long as there are other shows in the channel. If your show contains a subscription, it willl be removed from Apple Podcasts. If your channel contains only one show, and the show is removed for an issue, the channel and its subscriptions will also be removed from Apple Podcasts.
Rejected channels and subscriptions
Like shows, channels and subscriptions are also subject to content guidelines and artwork requirements. If your channel isn’t approved, you can correct the issue and resubmit your podcast in Apple Podcasts Connect.
Channels and subscriptions can be removed at any time. Generally if a channel or subscription was previously available on Apple Podcasts and then removed, it’s in response to a customer complaint and a violation of our content guidelines.
