Data requirements and troubleshooting

Data collection

Apple provides podcasters with a summary of activity for their shows. No personally identifiable listener information is included in the data.

Data is aggregated and gathered from the following devices:

  • iOS 11 or later
  • macOS Catalina or later
  • HomePod
  • iTunes 12.7 or later

Minimum listening threshold

If your show displays a “Not Enough Data” message in Analytics, your show has not met the data threshold for the time frame specified. At least five unique listeners must play content from your show within the selected time frame for the analytics metric you selected.

Missing podcasts

There may be different reasons why one of your podcasts doesn’t appear in your Analytics dashboard. Confirm you’ve done the following to avoid common issues:

  • Make sure you’re signed in with an Apple Account that has access to the show.
  • Confirm your podcast has met the listening threshold requirement — at least five unique listeners must play content from your show within the selected time frame for the analytics metric you selected.
  • Use the Search field in the main dashboard to filter a specific show or episode. Analytics displays the 100 most recently modified shows associated with your Apple Account. If you currently manage more than 100 podcasts, this action will not yield additional results.

Listening data availability

Listening data begins at 12:00 a.m. and ends at 11:59 p.m. (UTC). Diagnostics and usage information might be delayed by up to 72 hours.

The date range selected in the top right corner determines if podcasts or episodes will display listening data. If data is missing, make sure the podcast or episode publish date (as specified in Apple Podcasts Connect or the <pubDate> tag in your RSS feed) is within the specified date range.
