Update your podcast metadata
Metadata is the information that describes your podcast. Some things, like the title and author name, you probably already know. Others, like description and category, should be carefully considered from the perspective of a listener. Providing accurate metadata helps your show appear in relevant user searches and attracts listeners.
How to update your metadata via RSS feed
You can change your podcast’s metadata at any time by updating your podcast details with your hosting provider or updating the metadata tags in your RSS feed. For example, if you wish to change your podcast’s title, change the <title>
tag; if you wish to change your episode’s description, change the <description>
tag at the episode level. See the complete list of tags.
Apple Podcasts tags may be presented differently on your hosting provider’s dashboard. Consult their support teams for additional assistance.
Our system will automatically detect and update it on Apple Podcasts within 24 hours. You can review the Last Refresh date and time in Apple Podcasts Connect to confirm the last time our system updated your podcast. If it’s been more than 24 hours and you don’t see the changes, contact us.
