Enhance your episodes with chapters, links, and more
Apple Podcasts is dedicated to providing the best possible experience for listeners. With iOS 26.2, we’re excited to introduce even more ways for your audience to interact with your show with the new chapters and timed links features. Learn more about these new features, as well as other existing features that are designed to enhance your episodes and engage your listeners.
Chapters
Chapters are a powerful tool for enhancing the listener experience and driving engagement. They make it easier for listeners to navigate within an episode, quickly understand an episode’s structure, and return to specific sections that pique their interest.
When you supply chapters in your episode description or in your RSS feed, they display in Apple Podcasts. If you submit chapters through your hosting provider, you can include images. For shows in English, when chapters aren’t provided, Apple Podcasts generates them for you and an “Automatically created“ label appears in the chapter list. If you prefer not to use automatically created chapters, you can disable this feature in Apple Podcasts Connect. Learn more about chapters.
Timed links
Apple Podcasts makes it easy to connect your audience to the content they’ll love. Adding timed links is a convenient way to enhance your episodes, promote shows within your network, and connect your listeners to more content.
You can provide links to Apple Music, Apple News, Apple Podcasts, Apple TV, and more. If you include a timestamp with your link in your show notes or through your RSS feed, it’ll appear in line with your transcript and on the player while you’re discussing it. Listeners can click the link to learn more without disrupting their listening experience.
If you haven’t provided any links, we may automatically create a link for any podcast you mention. This feature is offered as a limited beta for shows in English. This makes it easy for you to promote shows within your network, spread the word about new content, or cross-promote with another creator. If you prefer not to use automatically created links, you can disable this feature in Apple Podcasts Connect. Learn more about links.
Transcripts
Released with iOS 17, transcripts give your audience the ability to read the full text of an episode, search the episode for a specific word or phrase, and tap the text to play from that point in the episode. As an episode plays, each word is highlighted, making it easy to follow along.
When you submit your show to Apple Podcasts, transcripts will be automatically created. If you would like to provide your own transcripts, you can change the transcript setting in Apple Podcasts Connect. Learn more about transcripts.
Artwork
Episode Art is optional cover art for individual episodes of your podcast. It allows you to highlight an episode’s content, such as a specific theme or guests, and helps draw in listeners before they even press play.
Episode Art appears across Apple Podcasts — in the Home tab, the player, and episode pages — giving your show more visual touch points. You can upload episode artwork via RSS using your third-party hosting provider. For subscriber episodes, it can be uploaded in Apple Podcasts Connect. Learn more about best practices for episode art.
