Troubleshooting

Troubleshoot audio upload issues

Apple Podcasts Connect validates your subscriber audio files as part of the submission process. Validation is strictly a technical evaluation to ensure your audio files meet our requirements. If you need further assistance, contact us.

Below are some common errors you might see when uploading your audio files:

File contains an invalid or no data chunk.

Your audio file might be corrupted. Re-encode your audio file and upload again.

Invalid bit depth. FLAC supports a bit depth of 4 to 32 bits per sample.

Adjust the bit depth setting on the encoder, re-encode your audio file, and upload again.

Blocking strategy is not supported.

Your audio file uses an unsupported blocking strategy. Re-encode your audio file with a fixed block size and upload again.

Variable block size is not supported.

We don’t support strategies that break up blocks and result in variable block sizes. Re-encode your audio file with a fixed block size and upload again.

The size of the metadata block containing an embedded picture exceeds the maximum block size.

Adjust your embedded image size so that this metadata block does not exceed the maximum.

Invalid sample rate in metadata block.

The sample rate in the metadata block is invalid. Adjust the sample rate setting on your encoder, re-encode your audio file, and upload again.
